I don't understand how a college campus which prides itself on being technologically savvy can have such crappy internet connections for its residents. Once again, the network in Waterview has gone down, and I have had to traipse all the way over to the CV lounge to check my email. Grrrr. If I had money, I'd get a cable connection, but I'm leaving in two months so I should just deal with it I guess.
I'M LEAVING IN TWO MONTHS!! I had this startling moment of realization last night as I was discussing my plans with a friend of mine. I have two months to finish planning this trip before I'm on an airplane to Prague. Oh man, I really starting to get nervous. And excited at the same time. I'm really looking forward to traveling on my own, as crazy as that sounds. I've done roadtrips on my own, why not Europe? And I can go at my own pace and go to all the crazy art museums I want. And no one can get mad at me for walking to Piazza Navona at 5 in the morning to feed the pigeons (that's right, Mr. Ellerbrock, I can take care of myself...)
I just turned in my application for the Russia thing. They're supposed to let me know within two weeks, and I have to get plans finalized pretty quickly after that, so these next few weeks are going to be a bit hectic.
That doesn't mean I'm not going to have fun. :-D Sondra and I are driving out to Big Bend on Saturday for a week in the desert. I love that place. So beautiful. And I really need an evening in the Starlight to loosen me up. :-D
Anyway, gotta head back to the apartment and do some reading for Dr. Towner. I love Faulkner, don't you?
